Digitising Gram Panchayats: A Quiet Revolution in Rural Rajasthan

Adhana Group is supporting the digitisation of Gram Panchayats across Rajasthan, turning village councils into efficient, transparent service centres.

A Gram Panchayat is, in many ways, the truest unit of Indian democracy. It is also, today, one of the most under-resourced. Birth and death certificates, scheme enrolments, grievance redressal — much of it still moves on paper, often forcing villagers to make repeated trips to district headquarters. Adhana Group is determined to change that.

Our Gram Panchayat digitisation programme partners with selected panchayats across Rajasthan to bring records, certificate issuance, scheme enrolment, and citizen-grievance handling fully online. The programme contributes hardware (computers, printers, UPS, biometric devices), software onboarding (e-Gram, e-Mitra), and structured training for sarpanchs, secretaries and operators.

The outcomes are immediate and tangible — faster delivery of birth, death and income certificates; transparent record-keeping; and a meaningful reduction in the time villagers spend travelling to district offices for routine paperwork. Women, daily-wage workers and the elderly benefit the most.

This programme also lays the foundation for Sumer Singh Adhana’s larger vision — a single digital window that connects every Gram Panchayat in Rajasthan. The current digitisation drives are not isolated grants; they are the building blocks of a state-wide civic-tech platform that Adhana Group hopes to operate in partnership with the government.
