Why Sumer Singh Adhana believes the future of village development lies in a respectful, transparent partnership between private capital and elected panchayats.
India’s villages do not need charity. They need partners. That belief sits at the heart of how Adhana Group thinks about its work in Khetri, Jhunjhunu, and the rest of rural Rajasthan. Charity, however well-intentioned, creates dependence. Partnership creates dignity.
Our model is straightforward. Adhana Group brings private capital, technology, project management and long-term commitment. Gram Panchayats and local government bodies bring legitimacy, governance, last-mile reach and democratic accountability. Citizens bring direction — telling us, often very clearly, what they actually need.
This is why every Adhana sustainability programme is co-designed with the panchayat. Books are distributed in schools the panchayat shortlists. Farmer seminars are organised with the Krishi Vigyan Kendras. Digitisation is rolled out at the pace the panchayat operator can absorb. Outcomes are reviewed transparently in open village meetings.
Sumer Singh Adhana’s vision of a single-window digital platform for every Gram Panchayat in Rajasthan takes this model to its logical next step. The private sector funds and builds; the government governs and adopts; the citizen benefits. This is the partnership model Adhana Group will continue to champion — and refine — over the coming decade.
