How Adhana Group is sponsoring the education of meritorious but underprivileged children in Khetri, Jhunjhunu — and changing the trajectory of entire families.
Books are a beginning. The next step is making sure that talented children from low-income families can stay in school long enough for that talent to become a career. That is why Adhana Group runs a year-round scholarship and sponsorship programme for meritorious but underprivileged children in Khetri, Jhunjhunu.
The programme covers school fees, uniforms, examination fees, transport costs, and where required, coaching support for board examinations and competitive entrance tests. Selection is jointly done with the school principal and the local panchayat — purely on merit and need, with no other consideration.
We also run after-school educational programmes — including English conversation circles, computer literacy classes, and weekend science workshops — in partnership with local educators. The goal is to give children from rural Rajasthan the same exposure that their urban peers take for granted.
Several first-batch scholarship recipients have already gone on to clear board examinations with distinction, and a handful are now in undergraduate colleges across Jaipur and Delhi. Their families’ lives have changed permanently. That, to Sumer Singh Adhana, is the truest measure of return on investment.
Adhana Group will continue to scale this programme — village by village, school by school, child by child — because we believe sustainable change begins in a classroom.
